Prandelli: Viola have good balance

Cesare Prandelli was visibly delighted with Fiorentina’s 5-2 win over Debrecen in the Champions League, putting La Viola on the brink of qualification.

Adrian Muta, Dario Dainelli, Riccardo Montolivo, Marco Marchionni and Alberto Gilardino all scored for Fiorentina, elevating the Viola to nine points in Group E, five points ahead of struggling Liverpool.

"The team has certainly found a good balance, which we are now turning into results," Prandelli explained to Sky Sports.

"At the beginning of the season, we would only have been able to dream about being in a situation like this in Europe, but we continue to grow with every game we play, and we are now very close to qualifying.

"We have been working hard to improve our work rate when not in possession of the ball, and this is also showing."

Prandelli continued with his assessment of the game, as well as some injury concerns.

He added, "We were about to complicate the night, as we let them back on level terms just before half time.

"But we started the second half with the right intensity, so we were fine. We had to maintain this tension though, and that is something we did.

"Injuries? Mutu has a slight strain, whilst [Cristiano] Zanetti took a knock to the knee."
