Milito: This is a crucial victory
Diego Milito revealed that he was satisfied with Inter Milan’s win over Dynamo Kiev, stating that it was a “crucial victory”.
Inter won for the first time in the Champions League this season, as they beat Dynamo 2-1 in the Ukraine. Andriy Shevchenko scored early for the home side, but the Nerazzurri came back with late goals from Diego Milito and Wesley Sneijder to seal all three points.
"This is a crucial victory for us, as it was an extremely difficult match," Milito told Rai after the game.
"Dynamo played really well, but in the second half, we were much better and deserved to win.
"They did score first, but we had so many chances, and luckily we were fortunate enough to score with our last two opportunities."
Milito did concede that Inter's qualification is not confirmed at this moment, with the Serie A giants hovering one point above Barcelona and Rubin Kazan in Group F.
He continued, "We are working hard to get as far away as possible from our rivals, but it's not easy to do, as we saw tonight.
"The teams in our group, and in the competition, are very strong. We must do well against Barca and Rubin.
"We know they will both be difficult matches, but now let's just enjoy this win."
