Messi: Barca can win without me

Lionel Messi is confident that Barcelona can gun down Inter Milan without him in the starting XI this Tuesday.

Barca host Inter at the Nou Camp needing a victory to keep their Champions League repeat dream alive.

Messi has not been completely ruled out after a medical examination revealed that his groin injury, suffered against Athletic Club wasn't as bad as initially thought.

Reports indicate that the Argentine forward has sustained a Grade 1 strain of the groin and may be fit enough to play a part in the Group F Champions League clash.

However, Barca coach Pep Guardiola may opt to rest Messi as El Clasico takes place over next weekend, with the coach needing his best players to take down Real Madrid.

Messi believes that his club can succeed this Tuesday, with or without him.

"We will move forward, it is unfortunate that this happens now because I always dream of playing these big games, if I do not, nothing happens because we are a winning team and we will succeed as is," Messi told El Mundo Deportivo.

"Whoever we have on the pitch we must not forget that we are Barca and we have a great team."
