CR7: I don't want to play against United

Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that he does not want to face Manchester United in the Champions League knockout stages.

This week will see the conclusion of the UEFA Champions League group stages and former United star, Ronaldo, knows his side, Real Madrid could be drawn to face the Red Devils in the first knockout round to be played in February.

The Sun reported that despite the Portuguese superstar's new-found allegiance to the white of Madrid, Ronaldo reckons that it will still be weird to be playing against some of his former team-mates and manager.

He said:"I don't want to play against Manchester.

"It will be a strange feeling if I play them. Mr (Sir Alex) Ferguson helped me a lot in my career.

"I was there six years and he taught me many things.

"I keep the same relationship with him. He's a good friend of mine. I still have the same friends.

"I speak sometimes with (Wayne) Rooney, (Nemanja) Vidic, (Rio) Ferdinand, Nani, (Patrice) Evra, Anderson."

United will travel to Germany to take on Wolfsburg while Real Madrid entertain Ligue 1 side, Marseille at the Bernabeu in the final round of fixtures before the knockout stage kicks off in February 2010.
