Inter Milan vs Rubin Kazan Preview
Jose Mourinho has faith in Inter Milan to win their match against Rubin Kazan and progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Inter currently stand second in Group F on the same points as their Russian visitors and two behind leaders Barcelona, with both qualification places still up for grabs in Group F.
Should either Inter or Rubin win then they will go through with either Barcelona or Dynamo Kiev.
However, if the match at the San Siro is drawn then Inter would only be guaranteed a knockout berth if the Ukrainians do not triumph in Kiev.
Mourinho, who won the Champions League with Porto before moving on to Chelsea, is supremely confident his side can prevail against Rubin, who recently retained their Russian title.
Mourinho said: "We're not scared of Rubin. We are better than them and I think we will win tomorrow.
"We haven't qualified yet so we can't even think about finishing first or second, or about who we will play after. Inter will just have to win tomorrow."
Mourinho was coy as to his starting line-up, adding: "You're all good at guessing my team.
"This time, not even my assistants know what team I will play against Rubin. We will see who is good at getting into my head and reading my thoughts."
Despite having such confidence in his side, Mourinho did offer congratulations to Rubin on their achievement in winning the Russian Premier Liga.
"Compliments to Rubin on winning the championship, please send my congratulations to the team, the coach and the fans. It's not an easy championship," he said.
Mourinho also responded to quotes by former Inter player and official Sandro Mazzola claiming the manager might leave if the side does not reach the last 16.
He said: "What is Mr Mazzola's role at Inter? Does he sign the cheque that I receive for my job?"
While Inter are still top of Serie A, their lead was reduced to four points by city rivals AC Milan after losing to Juventus at the weekend, while their last Champions League game saw them go down to an emphatic 2-0 defeat by Barcelona.
In contrast, Rubin have drawn their last two European matches and produced a huge shock earlier in the competition when they beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
As such, Wesley Sneijder is aware of the magnitude of tomorrow's San Siro clash.
"Tomorrow it will be a difficult game," he added. "We just want to win tomorrow and even if I weren't there, we would still want to win.
"My team has played and won even when I haven't been there.
"I'm one of the 18 important players who will be in the squad tomorrow and we are fighting for the Champions League."
