Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, cannot wait to take on his former club, Lyon in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Lyon were drawn to face Manuel Pellegrini's Real Madrid side and Benzema is eager to take on his former team-mates after spending five years with the Ligue 1 giants.

Speaking to L'Equipe, he said that he is "really pleased" to be given an opportunity to face Lyon.

Benzema stated: "To play against Lyon means a lot,

"Lyon will be a difficult opponent. They are a team of good players who have a lot of experience in the Champions League. It will be tough, but we'll get through it,"

The Frenchman who turns 22 this week has started to show the kind of goalscoring form he was in after taking awhile to find his feet in Spain.
