Pato: United key for Brazil future
AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato is confident that if he plays well against Manchester United, a Brazilian call-up will come.
The youngster along with team-mate Ronaldinho have not been favoured by Brazil national team coach Dunga in recent months and both will be hopeful that their form this season for Milan will catch the boss' attention.
The Mirror reported that Pato is keen to use the two legs against United as a stepping stone towards a recall to the national team.
He said: "Dinho and myself are here to play for Milan but a possible call-up to the national side depends on how we play in the red-and-black shirts,
"If I play well with Milan, especially in the big games, then I can hope for a call up to the national team. I want to do my best for Milan and win things with this team but I also want to get back into the national team. It has always been my aim."
It remains to be seen whether Leonardo will start Pato alongside Ronaldinho or opt for Marco Borriello who has been the preferred starting striker for the Brazilian tactician this season.
