Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar has warned his defenders to keep a firm eye on AC Milan ‘s Klaas -Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutch striker scored a brace at the weekend and could be a surprise starter for Leonardo's Milan side when the two teams take to the field at the San Siro in their first leg Champions League Round of 16 tie tonight.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, the experienced stopper singled out his compatriot as the man who could wreck United's dreams of progressing further in the competition.

Van Der Sar said: "We were team-mates for the national team,

"I know him well. He's a great striker, very good at exploiting opportunities that can appear. We must make sure we don't let those opportunities happen."

As for the game in general, the Dutchman knows his team are in for a difficult night.

He added: "The match against AC Milan will be a very tough game," he said. "Milan have great qualities, we know of their success. We must be very careful in defence because they are very strong in attack."
