"Chelsea will beat Inter Milan"

Stan Collymore believes that Carlo Ancelotti's men have what it takes to progress in the Champions League.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mirror, Collymore declared:"Chelsea will be in for a heck of a battle against Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan side tomorrow in the Champions League, but I fancy them to progress.

"The Italian champions lead 2-1 from the first leg at the San Siro and it is going to be a tough old ask for Carlo Ancelotti's side against."

"But they warmed up nicely with a demolition of West Ham at the weekend and I think the home side will win 2-0 tomorrow to go through."

"I have every faith in Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Frank Lampard to come up with the goods on the night."

Collymore singled out John Terry as the man on whose performance the game could turn.

"There might be one or two hairy moments but it is absolutely vital John Terry has a big game and is back to his confident, inspirational best following his personal problems."

"So hopefully Chelsea will join Manchester United and Arsenal in the quarter-finals as I fancy another all-English final."

Moving on, Collymore also spent some time ruminating on the fortunes and future of Joe Cole who faces an uncertain time at Stamford Bridge.

"I also hope we will see more of Joe Cole for Chelsea soon this season."

"I am a big fan of midfielder Cole, who is out of contract in the summer."

"He needs to be starting games as he was one of England's best players in the last World Cup."

"Hopefully he can sort out his future at Stamford Bridge and become a key player for the club again."

However, Collymore, a former Liverpudian himself is rooting for Cole to move to Anfield where he would be a good fit.

"But should he leave on a Bosman, I hope he ends up at my old club Liverpool. Whatever happens managerially at Liverpool in the summer, I would love to see him at Anfield."

"He would be guaranteed to get games at Liverpool and is exactly what the team need. A little bit of creativity would take some of the pressure off Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres. He could create chances for Torres and let Gerrard play a more orthodox role," concluded Collymore.
