"We are not scared of Messi"

Stuttgart forward Cacau has declared that his side will play without any fear against Barcelona in the Champions League.

The German side will meet the Catalan giants on Wednesday in the second leg of their round-of-16 tie.

The first leg in Germany ended in a 1-1 stalemate although Stuttgart will feel they should have won the match by a distance. The Germans missed a host of opportunities in the first half despite dominating the European champions.

Cacau, who scored the opener for Stuttgart before Barcelona equalised through Zlatan Ibrahimovic, accepts that beating the Nou Camp team on their home ground will be a massive ask.

"Barca are a better team than we saw in Stuttgart," said Cacau in comments reported by Marca.

"They will be playing in front of their own fans but we need to take our chances."

The conversation inevitably turned to Lionel Messi but Cacau refused to be cowed down by the striker's incredible form, saying Stuttgart "are not afraid of him."

The way to stop him will be for everyone to work together, united in an effort to take the match," he concluded.
