Former Inter midfielder Nicola Berti has proclaimed Jose Mourinho a genius after Inter’s victory over Chelsea on Tuesday.

Speaking to fcinternews, Berti mused: "Mourinho's choices were excellent, he trumped [Chelsea coach] Carlo Ancelotti. He is a genius, only he could think of deploying the offensive formation that he did last night."

The former Italian international was quick to extend his praise to the players as well.

"The team were fearless and played with great character and a real conviction," he added.

However, there were two in particular who stole the show in Inter's impressive showing on Tuesday night: Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Brazilian defender Lucio.

"Sneijder and Lucio were really tested and [president Massimo] Moratti must be thrilled with them. Now we must take this new found enthusiasm into the league," he concluded.
