Former Barcelona wideman Ludovic Giuly has backed his former club to retain their Champions League crown this season.

The Catalan giants will face off with German outfit Bayer Leverkusen after strolling through their group stage and topping it, having amassed 16 points from six matches..

"Winning La Liga will be hard, but Barca will win the Champions League," Giuly told Esports COPE.

"Everyone wants to play at Barca, there is no other club like this. The club's system is based on using fast wingers. There is no other system like Barca's."

Former French international Giuly also lavished praise on the sterling job done by Barca manager Pep Guardiola, saying, ""His work is impressive and his level is hard to top."

Giuly, who arrived in Spain from French side Monaco, spent three years at the Nou Camp between 2004 and 2007 and won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2006.
