Valdes wants Club World Cup title

Barcelona goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, has stated his desire to lift the FIFA Club World Cup trophy in Abu Dhabi next week.

The Club World Cup trophy is one piece of silverware that the Catalan giants have failed to add to their cabinet and Valdes reckons this is the year to do so.

Speaking at a press conference before their game against Espanyol at the weekend, Valdes said: "This World Cup comes at a different stage, after a great year and with the team full of confidence.

"In 2006 we were not overconfident but our opponent played a good final and the ball wouldn't go in for us,"

"The fact that the club has never won this motivates us on a personal and team level."

The last time Barca reached the final of the tournament was in 2006, they lost 1-0 to Brazilian side, Internacional.
