Joan Laporta has declared the FIFA Club World Cup final against Estudiantes as “the most important” in Barcelona’s history.

Barcelona beat Mexican side Atlante 3-1 to advance to the final on Wednesday.

"We are in the most important moment in our history and I am confident that the strength and spirit of Barcelona fans will bring us victory," Laporta told Marca.com.

La Blaugrana sealed their place in the final with another clinic in attack but fell behind early in the game. Laporta insists that he was not worried for even a second.

"Beyond the mishap the first goal, we controlled the game in a devastating way," he said.
