No preference for Del Bosque
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque insists he has no preference over who his side meet in the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup.
The European champions continued their remarkable run of form with a 1-0 win over Iraq in Bloemfontein, David Villa netting the only goal of the game just after half-time as the Spanish made it two wins in two in South Africa following their 5-0 thrashing of New Zealand.
Yesterday`s triumph was Spain`s 14th successive victory, equalling the record jointly held by Australia, Brazil and France, and extended their unbeaten streak to 34 games - one behind the world-record mark of 35 set by the Brazil side of the mid-1990s.
It also ensured the Iberian nation of a place in the last four of the Confederations Cup, where they will meet one of Brazil, Italy, Egypt or USA.
When asked about who he would prefer in the semi-finals Del Bosque said: "It doesn't bother me. You have to respect all the teams and they`ll all have their difficulties.
"But first we need to try and be first (in the group)," added Del Bosque, who admits he may ring the changes for their final Group A match against host nation South Africa on Saturday.
"We have completed our first objective, which was to be in the semi-finals, and this allows us to manage some players for the coming games."
Spain defender Gerard Pique is keen to draw either Brazil or Italy in the last four, even though both sides could pose a serious threat to the Euro 2008 winners` unbeaten run.
"I`d prefer one of the big teams. The stronger the opponent the better," he said.
