Ramos: "I can be Spain's centre-half!"
Spain international Sergio Ramos has said he is ready to play in the heart of Spain's defence if necessary against Liechtenstein.
Spain manager Vincente del Bosque has a headache after Carles Puyol and Raul Albion have come up injured, and Sergio Ramos, more comfortable at right-back, has offered to play in the centre for his country.
He said: "I have for many years alternated position between wing and in the centre. Lately I have been playing wide, but casualties might mean I play in the centre [versus Liechtenstein].
"It is a position I know, and I will adapt to the needs of the group."
Spain compete in Group I, which also includes Lithuania, Scotland, and the Czech Republic, as they begin the defence of the title they lifted in 2008.
