Les Bleus need to move forward

France midfielder Adil Rami wants Les Bleus to get their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign off on the right note starting with Belarus.

Rami, who won his first international cap in last month's 2-1 defeat to Norway when the World Cup squad were suspended, has again been included in Laurent Blanc's party for the Stade de France encounter and Tuesday's visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina in Group D.

The 24-year-old Lille man is feeling the weight of expectation ahead of his first competitive match for his country, but is keen to use it to positive effect.

"The pressure will come on game day. It will rise gradually," he told www.fff.fr.

"The pressure is present. We must make good use of it. It is an honour to represent the France team and I intend to return the favour.

"It is a very important game to win again for the supporters. After we can go forward on a proper footing."

Rami received criticism following his debut in the Oslo defeat, but he has not let it get him down.

"In my head, I am a hard worker and I will make good use of criticism," he said. "I will use it to grow."

Les Bleus crashed out of the World Cup in controversial circumstances after Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka was sent home and the rest of the squad refused to train in protest at his dismissal.

The team subsequently failed to win any of their Group A games and the French Football Federation then banned a number of players who they singled out as the instigators of the chaos.

Blanc refused to pick any of the 23 players involved in the World Cup for his first friendly but many have returned for the upcoming double header along with the uncapped quartet of Kevin Gameiro, Cedric Carrasso, Mamadou Sakho and Benoit Tremoulinas.

Samir Nasri, Djibril Cisse and Andre-Pierre Gignac are all missing for the Group D opener through injury.

"To have a young team is a good thing, but it's not enough to be competitive at the highest level," said Blanc.

"We tried to come up with a mixture of talented youngsters and more experienced players who can guide them."

Bosnia-Herzegovina, eliminated in the World Cup play-offs by Portugal, visit Luxembourg looking to get off to a positive start in their bid to make the 2012 tournament their first major international finals.

Safet Susic has selected a host of new talent in the shape of Under-21 internationals Ognjen Vranjes, Ibrahim Sehic and Goran Bunoza, while Luxembourg are without injured captain Jeff Strasser.

In the group's other fixture, Romania have lost three players through injury since announcing the squad for their Group D opener against Albania.

Cristian Sapunaru, Mihai Radut and Cristian Tanase have all been ruled out through injury with Cosmin Contra, Costin Lazar and Mihai Roman replacing them.
