Karim Benzema has been ruled out of France's Euro 2012 qualifier against Belarus tonight with an ankle injury.

The Real Madrid striker has been troubled by his right ankle for several days and although tests today showed a slight improvement, it was deemed to be too much of a risk for him to play tonight.

Benzema will continue to receive treatment with the French Football Federation hopeful he may be fit for the game with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday.
