Tim Hildebrand has accused Germany boss Joachim Low of a lack of respect after missing out on a place for Euro 2008.

The Valencia stopper was a surprise exclusion from the 26-man party as Low opted for Jens Lehmann, Hannover's Robert Enke and uncapped Bayer Leverkusen youngster Rene Adler as his three keepers.

And Hildebrand was furious Low left it to goalkeeping coach Andreas Kopke to tell him he had not made the cut.

He told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper: "The national coach did not tell me personally. I take that as a lack of respect for me.

"I was the (Germany) number two for many years, put myself in the service of the team - and was then booted out.

"I am angry and disappointed, irritated and empty at the same time. It is a nightmare, and it will last till I have worked through it all."

Hildebrand also criticised the selection of Lehmann as Germany's number one even though he has barely featured for his club Arsenal all season.

The 38-year-old was restricted to just a handful of appearances after losing his place to Manuel Almunia.

Hildebrand added: "I have played 40 matches. Other goalkeepers have scarcely played. As a professional you need game time - I have it, he (Lehmann) does not. I am not at the Euros, he is in goal."
