No Europa League for Mallorca
Mallorca have all but admitted defeat in their battle to be reinstated into this season's Europa League.
UEFA announced last month they had denied the Spanish side entry to the upcoming season's competition after deeming that they had fallen foul of financial regulations relating to their debts, and later rejected Mallorca's appeal.
Mallorca took the matter to a Spanish court but have today been informed that "as they are not urgent proceedings" they will have to wait until September 1 for a decision.
A statement on the club website relating the ruling added: "In this way, any decision of the court in reference to the action of UEFA and the exclusion of our team from the Europa League is on hold, and so RCD Mallorca see themselves deprived for the moment of any option to be included in the competition."
The Europa League play-offs are on August 19 and 26, and Mallorca's La Liga rivals Villarreal, who have taken the islanders' place in the competition, will face Belarusian outfit Dnepr Mogilev.
