Doncaster to take league form

Sean O'Driscoll has urged Doncaster to take their league form into the third-round replay against Cheltenham.

Rovers have reeled off three league wins in succession, the most recent a vital 2-1 win over Southampton at St Mary's which moved them a point above the Saints into 22nd place.

Now O'Driscoll's men turn their attention to the FA Cup, with a home tie against Premier League high-flyers Aston Villa to come on Saturday if they can beat Cheltenham.

"We ended 2008 on a high and we have carried that on and the players want to keep that going as long as they can," he told Rovers World Radio.

"We've experienced the other side of it where we've been losing games and it is a much better place to be and a better environment when you're winning.

"Three back-to-back wins is not unheard of, but it doesn't happen very often in the Championship because everybody could really beat everybody else.

"We want consistent results and in the short term we've been able to do that and the focus is there to keep it going."

Richie Wellens suffered a thigh injury and James Coppinger twisted his ankle during the win at Southampton and did not train today, and O'Driscoll will assess them tomorrow to decide whether they can play any part.

Paul Heffernan trained today after missing the Southampton game because of a virus and could be involved against the Robins.
