Feature: Injury woes mount for United
Manchester United booked a place in the Carling Cup final by sealing a 4-3 aggregate win over Derby on Tuesday.
More players joined the European champions' already lengthy injury list, and the number of squad members on the sidelines is threatening to derail United's bid for a clean sweep of trophies this season. Here we look at United's decimated defence and other injuries which could potentially leave manager Sir Alex Ferguson without 11 first-team players for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Tottenham.
Rio Ferdinand - Has missed United's past eight matches with a back injury but is nearing full fitness.
Wes Brown - Is close to a comeback following ankle surgery in November.
Patrice Evra - Sustained a foot injury in the 3-0 Premier League win over Chelsea and is not likely to return to action until early February.
Rafael - Will be sidelined for at least a month after suffering a torn hamstring in Tuesday's cup victory.
Jonny Evans - Limped through the latter stages of Tuesday's game with an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out for a week.
Anderson - Has had X-rays on the ankle injury that forced him to be stretchered off after the final whistle and is waiting to find out the length of his lay-off.
Wayne Rooney - Limped off against Wigan last week with a hamstring injury after just eight minutes - having scored less than 60 seconds into the match - and is expected back in early February.
Owen Hargreaves - Out for the rest of the season after surgery on both knees.
Nani, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs - All picked up knocks against Derby but could feature this weekend.
