In-form Aston Villa head into Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round clash at Everton aiming for a winning return at Goodison Park.

The Toffees looked to have snatched a late point through Joleon Lescott but Ashley Young nicked a dramatic last-gasp winner to give Martin O'Neill's side three points and a big boost in momentum.

O'Neill looks back on that trip fondly ahead of this weekend's return to Merseyside in the cup.

"It was an important game for both clubs," he told www.avfc.co.uk.

"We matched results for a while after that so it spurred us on and had the same effect on Everton.

"If their late equaliser had been the final kick of the match, we would obviously have been very disappointed to drop the two points.

"We would have had to accept the draw but who knows what would have happened after that?

"It was a fantastic finish and it was part of our great run away from home this season.

"Is it a defining moment? This is not the time to say that. You can only call events defining moments once the season is over and everything is settled."

Villa will be without England midfielder Gareth Barry this weekend through suspension.

Also on Sunday, league leaders Manchester United travel to Derby buoyed by today's news that winger Ryan Giggs has penned a new one-year contract at Old Trafford.

The 35-year-old Welshman, who made his first-team debut for the club nearly 18 years ago, told www.manutd.com: "I feel fit and I'm enjoying my football more than ever.

"This is an exciting young team and the spirit is great in the dressing room.

"I want to be a part of that and achieve even more success."

The bulk of the fifth-round action takes place on Saturday, with Chelsea under the guidance of caretaker manager Ray Wilkins for their match at Watford.

Incoming boss Guus Hiddink has travelled to London to meet his new players but is expected to have only a watching brief at Vicarage Road.

The only all-Premier League tie on Saturday sees Gianfranco Zola's West Ham host Middlesbrough.
