Welbeck: No better place than United

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is currently living the dream of representing his boyhood heroes in the FA Cup.

And after making his England Under-21 debut in Malaga earlier this week, Welbeck can now turn his attention to club duties and is aiming to be in the United side to travel to Pride Park on Sunday for The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON Fifth Round tie.

Having already helped the current European Champions reach the Final of the League Cup following a two-legged semi-final victory over Derby County, the teenager is hoping United can easier work of the Rams this time around when they meet in The FA Cup Fifth Round on Sunday.

"As we saw when we went to Pride Park in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, they have great support behind them," Welbeck told TheFA.com.

"They were really up for the game and were pushing us from the first whistle. This time we’ll have to attack them more and whoever plays I’m sure they’ll do well."

Welbeck has featured seven times for United this season, and has been one of Sir Alex Ferguson's strike options alongside Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez, and his hero Ryan Giggs.

"There is nothing better I can think of and I’m enjoying every single minute of it," he said.

"I used to love Giggsy so much, and still do. Just seeing him in training you can learn so much from him, He’s always there to give advice and I could say he’s my idol.

"It’s unbelievable training with players like that. I could even say that training is harder than a game sometimes. But to be learning from them is great.

"I’m just looking to get more games, train as hard as I can and improve to become a better player.

He continued: "There’s no better place to be. I think Manchester United is the best club to be at."
