Reading aware of Liverpool threat
Reading caretaker boss Brian McDermott has called for a massive improvement from his side when they face Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend.
The Royals crashed to a morale-damaging 4-1 defeat at fellow Championship strugglers Plymouth on Monday and McDermott knows a similar performance against the Reds could lead to humiliation in front of the television cameras on Saturday evening.
"All we can do is look ahead to the next game against Liverpool. It's a massive game," said McDermott.
"We have to not point the finger, no blame attached, we just have to really, really deal with what happened and then move on.
"It is what it is, it's the next game. You have got a massive club, a fabulous club, coming to our ground.
"Our fans will be looking forward to it and I have said to the players we cannot put on a performance like we did at Plymouth live on the TV and in front of our supporters. That can't happen again."
