England team that faced Belarus: -
Foster: 7
Kept his nerves well and had a good workout. Made a great reactive save from Sergey Omelyanchuk to keep a clean sheet.
Johnson: 7
Linked up well with Lennon on the right and used his pace to attack very well. Was caught out a few times defensively and will be given a roasting by Capello.
Ferdinand: 6
Not really given a stern test as he was given on Saturday. Looked assured.
Terry: 6.5
Surprisingly beaten a few times. He looked a threat at set-pieces.
Bridge: 6
Not really a force going forward and defensively was sound. Injured and replaced by James Milner in the second half.
Lennon: 7
Belarus could not live with his pace but his end product is again something that needs to improve if he wants to be a first-teamer in South Africa. Replaced yet again to give way for David Beckham.
Barry: 8.5
Easily England's best performer. Great vision by Barry to create England's opener and held the midfield well. Has to be Capello's first name on the team sheet.
Lampard: 7
Did not go forward as often as he would have wanted. Good set-piece taker but was a little subdued in the second-half.
Wright-Phillips: 7
Only playing because of Steven Gerrard's injury. Showed more pace than guile. Deserved to score a goal for his industry.
Crouch: 8.5
Given a chance to shine after Emile Heskey was completely dropped. Showed greater desire to win the ball to score England's first. And good awareness for the second. Has now scored 18 goals for his country.
Agbonlahor: 6
Again a substitute for the missing Wayne Rooney. Great cross for Crouch's opener for England but faded badly as the game wore on. Replaced by Carlton Cole in the second half as England went for two target-men up-front.
Subs:
Beckham: 6
Made an instant impact after he came on to take a short corner for Wright-Phillips' goals. Almost scored a goal.
Carlton Cole: 6
His shot helped create Crouch's second goal. Showed good movement and the partnership with Crouch looks promising.
James Milner: 6
Showed his reliability when he was chosen to come on for Wayne Bridge to cover the left-side of defence.
