Rubin Kazan

Sergei Ryzhikov: 7

Always at the right place at the right time, the 28-year-old kept Barca at bay with some brave stops and good positioning. He dived bravely in the 21st minute to save from Lionel Messi. He also came out quickly to tame Andres Iniesta's shot in the 43rd min. Had a easier time in the second half.

Cristian Ansaldi: 6

Linked up well with Kaleshin on the left flank.

Cesar Navas: 6

The former Real Madrid B defender was strong in the tackle.

Roman Sharonov: 7

Had a fascinating battle with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the first-half and kept the Swede quiet in the second.

Sergei Semak: 6

Found space to be a premium against Xavi and co.

Lasha Salukvadze: 6

Solid performer - Kept Lionel Messi quiet whenever the Argentinean drifted to the flanks.

Aleksandr Ryazantsev: 6

Scored the first goal against Barcelona at Nou Camp but found chances hard to come by.

Christian Noboa: 6

Curbed his attacking instincts to help cover the defence.

Vitali Kaleshin: 6

Did his part defensively - Stopped a potential through-ball to Zlatan.

Gokdeniz Karadeniz: 5 (off 62nd)

Claimed the famous winner against the Catalans but failed to impose himself in this game.

Alejandro Dominguez: 7

Caused a few problems with his pace and frequently attacked down Barca's left side.

Subs:

Aleksandr Bukharov: 8 (on 62nd)

His introduction gave Rubin the impetus to attack. In the 74th minute, Bukharov's first touch let him down and he let Valdes collect the ball. Then in the 79th minute, he cut through the Barcelona defence at pace and if not for a brave Valdes who saved at his feet, he would have scored.

Barcelona

Victor Valdes: 8

Made a great save, his first, at his near-post from Ryazantsev in the 41st minute. And two more important ones from Bukharov in the second-half. Earned the point for Barcelona.

Daniel Alves: 6

Alves was given the license to bomb forward but his crosses were useless and he gave the ball away a lot of times.

Eric Abidal: 5

Offered little going forward nor useful in defence.

Gerard Pique: 6

Was caught out a few times by Dominguez and looked uncomfortable in difficult conditions.

Carles Puyol: 6

His all-action style and leadership was very much needed as Rubin came alive in the last 15 minutes.

Yaya Toure: 6

A massive presence in midfield but lost steam in the second-half.

Seydou Keita: 5 (off 82nd)

A pale shadow of his usual self.

Xavi: 5

Tried to dicate play but didn't impose himself on the game as much as Iniesta.

Andres Iniesta: 6

Kept Barcelona's midfield ticking alongside Xavi - had a great chance in the first-half but shot straight at the 'keeper.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 5

Had numerous chances to give Barca the lead in the first half but his poor finishing let him down.

Lionel Messi: 5

Rubin's amassed defence successfully repelled Messi whenever he ran at the defence. His passing radar also wasn't on in this game and neither was his shooting boots.

Subs:

Thierry Henry: 5 (on 82nd)

Could have won the game twice for Barcelona at the end but his lack of match fitness was apparent.
