Arsenal
Manuel Almunia - 5
Could have done better with Chelsea's third, but the match was over by then anyway.
Thomas Vermaleen - 4
The normally calm Belgian appeared flustered against Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka. His misery was compounded by an own goal.
William Gallas - 5
Did not appear to have recovered from the midweek eye injury. Looked shaky against his old team.
Armand Trarore - 6
Had a decent game. Showed good pace going forward and tracked back nicely to keep Anelka in check.
Bacary Sagna - 5
Could not pepper the opponent's box with crosses like he normally does. Struggled to take the cutting edge off Chelsea's diamond.
Alex Song (off 45') - 4
Overwhelmed by Chelsea's quality in midfield.
Denilson - 4
Barely figured in the game.
Cesc Fabregas - 4
An poor day for the usually splendid Spainard. Struggled to unlock the meanest defence in the league.
Andrei Arshavin - 3
The Russian's star has dipped dramatically over the past few games and today was another mediocre outing.
Samir Nasri - 3
Did not too enough with the ball and was caught too often in possession.
Eduardo - 1
The poorest player on the pitch. Had numerous chances to run at the back line in early parts of the first and second half but never looked the striker's part.
Substitutes
Theo Walcott - 7
His pace made an immediate impact on the game. Arsenal looked threatening in the second half as soon as he was introduced.
Carlos Vela - 4
Came on to replace the poor Eduardo but looked out of his depth.
Tomas Rosicky - 5.5
Had some good moments late on in the match, but followed the template of the match by being mediocre in the final third.
Chelsea
Petr Cech - 6
Was rarely troubled in the 90 minutes. Cleared corners and through balls with authority.
John Terry - 8
A resounding game for the captain. Dominated the tiny Eduardo in the air and his distribution was superb.
Ricardo Carvalho - 6
Formed a formidable partnership with Terry and snuffed out numerous Arsenal attacks in the final third.
Ashley Cole - 8.5
Was quite brilliant going forward. His fizzing deliveries from the left channel were responsible for the opening two goals.
Branislav Ivanovic - 5
Did not feature much in the game.
John Obi Mikel - 4
Chelsea's poorest player. Needless tackles and stray passes marred his day.
Joe Cole - 5
Was not as involved as he would have liked. Showed enough to prove that he is fast returning to his best.
Frank Lampard - 7.5
Was fantastic in midfield. Man amongst the boys is the phrase that comes to mind.
Michael Essien - 6
Solid without being spectacular.
Didier Drogba - 9.5
Another brilliant outing for the striker from Ivory coast. A finely placed volley and a ferocious free kick showcased his versatility.
Nicolas Anelka - 7
Partnered well with Drogba and glided through the Arsenal defence frequently.
Substitutes
Deco - 5
Pottered around the pitch looking extremely comfortable. The guys in front of him had already done the bulk of the work.
Paulo Ferreira - 5
Replaced the brilliant Ashley Cole. It was too much to expect a similar performance from him.
Florent Malouda - n.a
