Robinson: 8
Was the hero for Rovers with two penalty saves to send them into the Carling Cup semi-finals.

Salgado: 7
The former Real Madrid man used his vast experience well to twart several Chelsea attacks but was at fault with Chelsea's first goal.

Samba: 6
Was strong in defence and a threat at set-pieces.

Nelsen: 6
Did his best to try to repel the much-vaunted Chelsea attack with several last-ditch tackles.

Chimbonda: 6
Did well to create space for a cross for Kalinic to score the opening goal to force Chelsea and Carlo Ancelotti into a three-player substitution.

Emerton: 6
Swung several useful crosses and one of them went in luckily for Blackburn's second goal.

Nzonzi: 6 (Van Heerden 91)
Worked hard and kept Blackburn's midfield ticking.

Pedersen: 6 (Grella 62)
Was hardworking on the left flank and contributed with several long throws.

McCarthy: 7
Took both his penalties well.

Roberts: 7 (off 70th min)
Was took hot to handle by the Chelsea defence.

Kalinic: 7
The 21-year-old Croatian striker gave a good account of himself and took his goal well.

Chelsea

Hilario: 5
Played his part in the exciting Cup tie - by being at fault with two of the goals.

Belletti: 5 (Bruma 46)
Struggled to contain the speedy Kalinic.

Ivanovic: 5
Had his hands full trying to contain the physical Jason Roberts.

Paulo Ferreira: 5
Was not comfortable being deployed at the centre of defence. Did his part in this Cup tie by scoring Chelsea's third goal in extra-time to force penalties.

Zhirkov: 5
Was again a mixed display from the Russian. Gave away a penalty during extra-time.

Mikel: 5
Anonymous.

Ballack: 6
The stand-in skipper tried to direct traffic but to no avail.

Deco: 5 (Drogba 46)
Was lively in the middle of the field.

Joe Cole: 5 (Kakuta 46)
Not his usual self.

Kalou: 5
Wasted seveal chances before scoring Chelsea's second goal. Went off injured in the 73rd minute.

Malouda: 6
Had a tough time against Salgado but did enough to cross for Ferreira's equaliser.

Subs:
Drogba: 7 (on 46th min)
Made an instant impact after coming on but was limited after Chelsea went down to ten men.

Kakuta 6 (on 46th min)
Did not impressed.

Bruma (on 46th min)
Came on to take his place in defence. Not as assured as expected.
