Liverpool only play for 89 minutes
Kelvin Leong wonders why Liverpool have never quite learnt their lesson when it comes to conceding late goals.
If a football match only lasted 89 minutes instead of the usual 90, Rafa Benitez's men could very well be higher up the league table and still in with a shout in the UEFA Champions League.
Saturday's 1-1 draw against Stoke has edged Benitez closer to the exit door but Roberth Huth's late equaliser for the Potters wasn't the first time the Reds have conceded goals with barely seconds left on the clock.
On five other occasions this season, Fernando Torres and his team-mates have given away late goals that have broken the hearts of many Liverpool fans.

Barclays Premier League
Stoke City 1-1 Liverpool
Fate can be very cruel. Especially when you are in the midst of a slump. Even worse, when a team who were touted to be contenders for the UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup get knocked out cold not by the opponents in the very last minute of a game.
With Steven Gerrard, Yossi Benayoun and Fernando Torres sidelined through injury, Benitez had to put out a weakened team who did well to gain a 57th minute lead through Greek defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos.
And just like their previous failings, Robert Huth stuck out a leg to divert the ball past Pepe Reina in the dying seconds to send the Reds home in misery yet again.
