Manchester City grabbed the headlines after their big win over Chelsea while John Terry and Wayne Bridge should start to grow up.

HEROES

MANCHESTER CITY
The surprise result of the week? Make that the result of the season so far. Manchester City destroyed Chelsea at Fortress Stamford Bridge and made a strong statement of intent for fourth spot. Carlos Tevez has proved yet again what a player he is with two goals against the Blues. It was a great display for the little Argentine as he was up-front on his own for the most part of the game. He had a great partner in Craig Bellamy and this duo alone can dismantle any defence in the league.

TOTTENHAM
Gone are the days when Tottenham's teams were deemed too soft and fragile to sustain a run of results during a course of season. Now Spurs are not only playing beautiful flowing football, they also have this mean streak about them. Not even a virus outbreak and a growing injury risk can derail their top four challenge. Up against an in-form Everton side, Spurs, with Luka Modric leading the way, outplayed the Toffees in the first half and showed their defensive qualities after Everton staged a late comeback in the second half. The London side may not be favourites for taking that fourth spot, but they have a better chance than ever to qualify for the Champions League this season.

ARSENAL
Aaron Ramsey's horrific injury masked the fact that Arsenal are right back in the title race after picking up impressive three points at Stoke City. It may be at a cost of a player - but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has wasted no time in using Ramsey's injury as a rallying point for his young troop. Make no mistake, losing Ramsey is a blow to Arsenal - but he's not a first teamer yet - so the impact will be minimal. Wenger still believes Arsenal have a big say in the title race - they have an easier run-in while their rivals still have to play one another next month.

PORTSMOUTH
With a threat of points deduction hanging over their heads, the Portsmouth players cast their insecurities aside and continued to do their day job in the league. Burnley are no push-overs at Turf Moor but Pompey notched a much-needed win. It may not save them from relegation - but at least the players are showing some fighting spirit.

BOLTON
Bolton are by no means safe from relegation but by sealing a vital win over fellow-struggler Wolves (as well as breaking their scoring duck), the Trotters are making sure they have more time to save their Premier League hides.

ZEROES

JOHN TERRY & WAYNE BRIDGE
The soap opera that is developing between the two players should have been settled behind closed door. Instead it was allowed to manifest into a public showdown. In the build-up to the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester City, the spat between both players cast a huge shadow over the game. Wayne Bridge attracted boos at Stamford Bridge while the unsettled John Terry is rapidly becoming half the defender he once was. Spare a thought too for England coach Fabio Capello who first had to demote Terry, amid intense media interest, from the England captaincy. And then he saw Bridge withdraw from his World Cup squad in order to avoid Terry. By doing so, Bridge thinks he is bigger than the team and shows how much he cares for his country. As for Terry, his England place may be safe but another high profile mistake at international level could see his first-team usurped just as his captaincy was.

RYAN SHAWCROSS
First Eduardo, then Abou Diaby and now Aaron Ramsey. Whether there was intent or not, Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross was still responsible for putting another professional into hospital. Aaron Ramsey may not end up to be the same player he was when he recovers and he may not go on to realise his full potential. Shawcross should be punished more severely to ensure no other players launch themselves into reckless tackles again.

BURNLEY
After promising so much earlier this season, Burnley now look to be on their way back to the Championship. The home game against relegation-certainties Portsmouth was a must-win but Brian Laws' side fluffed their chance to climb out of the relegation zone. With tougher games coming up, including a visit to Arsenal, the Clarets are running out of games to save themselves.

SUNDERLAND
No wins in their last 14 league games and a whole lot of questions raised over Steve Bruce's managerial qualities. Bruce cannot always blame other clubs of tapping up their players or rant at referees for giving decision against them. Has Bruce lost the dressing room? Or are the players just not good enough? Maybe it's both.
