Brazil thrash Portugal 6-2

Luis Fabiano eased some of the pressure on Dunga as the striker`s hat-trick helped Brazil thrash Portugal in Brasilia.

Maicon, Elano and Adriano also got on the scoresheet as the home side completed a resounding friendly victory.

Portugal took the lead after just four minutes when Bruno Alves won the ball in midfield and fed Danny, who found the back of the net with a right-foot effort.

Brazil hit back quickly as four minutes later, Luis Fabiano equalised following good work from Robinho down the left.

The forward struck again just before the half-hour mark as midfielder Kaka beat a defender before finding Luis Fabiano and the Sevilla star beat Portugal keeper Quim with a powerful finish.

Maicon extended their lead at the start of the second-half as Maicon finished off an excellent team move from close range before Luis Fabiano completed his treble in the 58th minute when Quim spilled Robinho's shot and the striker pounced.

Simao reduced the deficit but an impressive long-range shot from Manchester City's Elano then made it 5-2.

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, was unable to escape the shackles of the Brazilian defenders and showed his frustration on a number of occasions during the game.

Adriano, on as a substitute for Luis Fabiano, completed the scoring with a header in the final minute.
