Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a rebuke on Jose Mourinho's sarcastic remarks as to who is the world's best player.

The Sun reported that the Manchester United winge,r who helped Sir Alex Ferguson's team to a 1-0 away win over West Ham United on Sunday, launched a scathing attack on Mourinho for his earlier dig at the winger.

Ronaldo who won the two prestigious individual awards - Ballon D'or and FIFA World Player of the Year - appeared to have been upset with his Portuguese compatriot's harsh criticism.

Mourinho had earlier claimed that his star striker at Internazionale, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a better player than the United superstar.

The flying winger said: "I respect everybody's opinion but let me tell both of them all the trophies for best player last season are in my house, not Ibrahimovic's."

The outspoken Inter coach could be made to eat humble pie when the two sides clash in the UEFA Champions League with Ronaldo vowing to do everything in his power to oust the Italian giants from the tournament.

"Mourinho has a strong Inter team but I believe United are better than them. It's that simple." added Ronaldo.
