Beye could fly Magpies coop

Newcastle United defender Habib Beye is a target for Premier League sides Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers.

The Newcastle full-back has previously stated his commitment to helping the Toon gain promotion back to the Premier League, but, according to the Daily Star, both Rovers and Sunderland believe they can tempt him.

In Blackburn's favour is the fact that manager Sam Allardyce signed Beye during his spell at Newcastle, ensuring a good relationship between the two. In addition, the former Marseille man might have reservations about joining Sunderland, the Magpies' greatest rivals.

However, with a reported £50 million budget to play with the Black Cats could potentially offer more money for the Senegalese international not to mention greater wages for Beye.

Beye was largely seen as one of the few positives from Newcastle's disastrous season, and has established himself as a fan favourite at St. James' Park.
