UD Almeria v Villarreal - La Liga

Rossi happy to end goal drought

Giuseppe Rossi was a relieved man as his goal drought finally ended when he scored against Tenerife at the weekend.

The Italian international failed to score for Villarreal in the last seven games before he broke the spell with a 52nd minute goal.

The Yellow Submarines went on to win the game 5-0 and Rossi reckons this could be a huge turning point for his side.

Speaking to the Marca, Rossi said: "The truth is that it was starting to worry me after having gone for a number of games without scoring and missing chances," Rossi revealed in an interview with Marca.

"It's normal that when the goal that you have been looking for finally arrives, you go crazy with joy and that's what happened to me.

"What was happening to us was very rare, but this is football and things like that happen. Sometimes you don't win or you don't score even though you deserve it.

"Now after a poor personal run, I hope that good things will come. But the most important thing is that the team wins and that the problems are solved."

Villarreal will travel to Seville for a game against an in-form Sevilla side this weekend.
