Serie A Weekend Preview

Roma face a daunting trip north this weekend in Serie A when they travel to the San Siro to face a reinvigorated Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri will be in a positive frame of mind after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League - their first victory in the competition this season.

Late goals from Diego Milito and Wesley Sneijder allowed Jose Mourinho's side to prevail and take first place in Group F.

Argentinian striker Milito said: "This was a crucial victory for us, it was an extremely difficult match.

"Dynamo played really well, but in the second half we were much better and deserved to win."

The Nerazzurri will now turn their attention to Serie A, where they are cruising.

The four-time defending champions go into the game against Roma seven points clear of second-placed Juventus.

Roma, who are 14th in the standings, will go up against an Inter side that has won five straight league games.

Juventus also enjoyed success in Europe this week with a 1-0 triumph at Maccabi Haifa, courtesy of Mauro Camoranesi's goal.

Ciro Ferrara's side will be hoping to bounce back from last weekend's 3-2 defeat against Napoli with a win at strugglers Atalanta.

A slip by Juve in Bergamo could see Sampdoria climb to second, provided Luigi del Neri's men end their winless run on the road in Cagliari.

Samp have not won on their travels since September 19 while the Sardinians go into the game on the back of three straight triumphs.

Fourth-placed AC Milan look to end a positive week on a high note when they make the journey to Rome to meet strugglers Lazio.

The Rossoneri beat Parma 2-0 at the weekend before holding Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw in the Champions League.

A rampant Fiorentina will take on Udinese at the Stadio Friuli. The Viola clinched a 5-2 triumph over Debrecen in the Champions League in midweek and in Serie A they are one point behind AC Milan heading into Sunday's match.

Napoli will fancy their chances of claiming their sixth win of the campaign when they travel to Sicily to meet Catania.

Having held AC Milan to a 2-2 draw, the Naples side came from behind to beat Juventus 3-2 in the last round.

Genoa will this weekend attempt to climb into the top six when they host bottom side Siena.

The Grifoni, who have the worst defensive line in the competition with 20 goals conceded, held Palermo to a goalless draw in their last league game.

Gian Piero Gasperini's side are level on 17 points with Napoli heading into the game at the Luigi Ferraris stadium.

Livorno will climb out of the relegation zone if they win at Bari. The Amaranto are level on nine points with 16th-place Atalanta.

Bologna host Palermo, knowing that anything but a win could see them fall into the drop zone.

Franco Colomba's side lost 2-1 at Roma in the last round and dropped to the last position of safety, level on nine points with Livorno.
