Argentina warned: Forget about Kun!
Sergio Aguero should not play for Argentina's friendlies, says Atletio Madrid coach Quique Flores.
According to Goal.com, the Atletico coach has urged Argentina boss Diego Maradona to use 'logic and common sense' in relation to the selection of Aguero.
Argentina will be facing friendlies against Spain and Nigeria but Atletico claim the winger is not fit because of a thigh strain.
Over the weekend, Aguero came on as a substitute in the Madrid derby and scored a goal in the 3-2 defeat to Real but Flores insists his player needs to rest so as to last through the season.
"I rely a lot on common sense. We talked a lot with the player and he aired his feelings, which are better than before the game [against Real Madrid] and also note that he had to suffer a bit more, which we are grateful to Kun [Aguero] because he is an absolute professional, but logic and common sense say you should not play [with Argentina]," Flores said, according to ABC.
Los Colchoneros coach also called for common sense from Argentina coach Diego Maradona in handling the player's injury.
"I speak highly of the Argentina team doctor, who always shows great awareness in these situations. And I hope Maradona has the common sense necessary to know Kun should not participate in a game," he declared.
"We certainly talked with Kun about the pain, which cost us a lot having leave to a player as decisive as him on the bench [against Madrid]."
