Laporta: Cesc our kind of player
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stoked rumours by saying that Cecc Fabregas plays Barca's style of football.
Laporta's comments were the latest in a slew of Cesc Fabregas stories emanating out of the Camp Nou.
Ever since Fabregas established himself at Arsenal, a possible return to Barcelona has been the subject of intense speculation in the Spanish media with latest rumours suggesting a €50 million Barca bid for the midfielder in the January transfer window.
Speaking to the Spanish publication Sport, Laporta said that "He [Fabregas] was formed at Barca, he has our style of playa and the majority of 'cules' like him." However, the president added that "we must respect Arsenal and cannot comment though. The market is not open and these matters are decided by the techical director [Txiki Begiristain], and so we are not thinking about it at the moment."
Fabregas was a trainee at Barcelona before moving to Arsenal at the age of 16. Under Arsene Wenger's tutelage, the 22 year old has since become a pivotal player in the Gunners set-up.
