Real defenders gush over win
Ezequiel Garay and Royston Drenthe were pleased that they helped Real Madrid secure three points against Racing Santander.
Both defenders were elated that their side emerged from a tough encounter with maximum points and the duo hinted that they want more game time on the pitch.
Speaking to the Marca, Garay said:"It was a special game, because I played against my former team."
"It was intense and I am satisfied with the victory. It is hard to play in defence in such an attacking team.
"Not everyone can play every game. First we have a match against Zurich, then the Clasico, which we all want to play in.
"The coach will select those who impress the most in training."
Dutch wing-back, Drenthe, also hinted that he is ready to fight for his place in a star-studded Madrid side.
Drenthe said: "It was a tough game."
"It would have been easier if we had scored a second goal. We must show our best form in the Clasico, but first we have a key game against Zurich.
"I worked very hard to get back in the team after the game against Alcorcon. The coach told me that if I worked hard I could play again.
"I am the only one who can change my situation."
