Nurnberg 0-4 Hamburg

Nurnberg 0-4 Hamburg

Eljero Elia scored twice and set up a third goal as Hamburg ended a run of seven games without a win by thrashing Nurnberg.

Elia opened the scoring in the 47th minute and was followed by Marcell Jansen at the hour mark. Tunay Torun made it 3-0 after 66 minutes and Elia struck his second goal in the 74th minute.

The rush of goals came after Hamburg had hit just one in their last three games, and the returning to winning ways lifts them up to fourth place.

Hamburg had more ball possession early on but the first good chance went to the hosts as Albert Bunjaku ran onto Peer Kluge's ball down the left wing but his shot went across the mouth of the goal and just wide right after 18 minutes.

Nurnberg again were close two minutes later but Christian Eigler's header was corralled by Hamburg goalkeeper Frank Rost.

The visitors finally had a decent sigh of goal in the 22nd minute, but Jansen struck just over the crossbar.

Hamburg grabbed the lead just two minutes after the break. Torun sent a long ball into the area and Elia ran onto it and looped it over Nurnberg keeper Alexander Stephan.

The guests doubled the lead at the hour mark as Elia poked a through ball into the area where Jansen beat Stephan to the left side.

And it was 3-0 six minutes later after a superb strike by Turon, who dribbled in from the left side and blasted into the upper right corner from the edge of the area.

Elia finished the scoring with 16 minutes to play, converting after a fine pass from Jansen.

Nurnberg have not scored a goal in five matches and remained down in 17th place.
