Vlaar gets Holland call-up
Feyenoord defender Ron Vlaar is not getting carried away by his call-up to the provisional Holland squad.
Vlaar was included in a 25-man party for the friendly match against USA in Amsterdam on March 3.
The 25-year-old, who has two caps to his name but is yet to appear under current boss Bert van Marwijk, has impressed in the Eredivisie this term after missing most of the past two seasons through injury.
"It is a provisional squad, not yet definitive," Vlaar told Feyenoord's official website.
He added: "I have fought hard, not so much to make it into the Dutch national team, but in order to return to a playing level.
"The question this season was how that would go. Fortunately it has gone well. I am proud."
Vlaar's inclusion clearly boosts his chances of being part of Holland's squad for this summer's World Cup, but the defender is not looking that far ahead.
"The World Cup is still far away for me," he said.
The final squad for the clash with America will be named on February 26.
