Maicon's agent cries foul over move
Maicon's move to Real Madrid is being sabotaged by someone, according to the player's agent.
The right-back's move to the Bernabeu appears to have reached a dead end after seemingly being a done deal some time ago.
Media reports indicate that Inter Milan and Real Madrid are haggling over the price for Maicon, but agent Antonio Caliendo alleges there's some foul play afoot.
In comments reported by AS, he said: "One of the reasons that this transfer is taking so long is because there's someone out there playing a dirty game. Sooner or later the truth will be revealed and we will know who frustrated the move."
Sensing the euros slipping from his grasp, Caliendo is desperately hoping for a deal to be done before the transfer window slams shut.
"I can only hope that someone will take a decisive step and this matter will be solved in some way," he said.
"We all know that Maicon still has a contract with Inter and that president Massimo Moratti will consider an offer that meets his demands.
"I have a very good relationship with Madrid and I can say that they have never said that Inter's financial demands in the transfer of Maicon are excessive."
A ballpark figure of €28 million is being bandied around for Maicon to seal his re-union with Jose Mourinho.
