Former Juventus manager Ciro Ferrara has told Sky Italia that Diego would not have been sold if he was still in charge.

Diego was somewhat controversially sold to Wolfsburg just a year after completing a €25 million move from Werder Bremen.

"For me, Diego deserved another chance," Ferrara said.

"There is an argument to be made between the technical and financial side of things.

"But I would have given him another chance."

Ferrara was sacked as boss from the club in January this year following a run of poor results which saw Juve slip to sixth in the league standings following five losses in six consecutive games.
