India hope for Asian glory
India take on Tajikhisthan in the finals of the AFC Cup in Delhi on Wednesday and both teams would come hard at each other.
India drew with their final opponents earlier in the the tournament. However, the hosts led by the in form Bhaichung Bhutia have been on a roll ever since, pipping Turkemnistan to the post 2-1 and then getting the better of Myanmar 1-0 in the semi final.
The hosts went about their business with an unchanged line up. Steven Dias, Sunil Chhetri and goalkeeper Subroto Pal have been in magical form and coach Bob Houghton would be hoping they repeat the magic at the Ambedkar Stadium Wednesday evening.
The teams would also be comfortable with the fact that the ground conditions would be better than Hyderabad where incessant rains had turned the field into a paddy field.
