Carling Cup Wednesday Preview
Tottenham are looking to repeat their Premier League win over Liverpool when they clash at White Hart Lane in the Carling Cup.
Rejuvenated Tottenham will be hoping to repeat their Premier League triumph over Liverpool earlier this month when the Reds visit White Hart Lane in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.
Spurs have moved off the bottom of the table and up to 16th thanks to three wins and a draw in the league since the appointment of Harry Redknapp as manager.
The Carling Cup holders ended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 victory in north London on November 1 but Rafael Benitez's side have the chance to gain a measure of revenge in midweek.
However, spirits are high among Redknapp's troops with in-form striker Darren Bent - who netted both goals in Sunday's come-from-behind 2-1 win at Manchester City - admits it feels good to have finally got the season up and running.
"We showed our resilient side against City and how we are a different team from the one a few weeks ago," said the 24-year-old.
"It's massive to be off the bottom of the table at last. It wasn't nice picking up the papers and seeing ourselves bottom of the league, particularly with the calibre of players we've got."
Also on Wednesday, last term's beaten finalists Chelsea welcome Burnley to Stamford Bridge while Sunderland and Blackburn will aim to bounce back from home Premier League defeats at the weekend when they go head to head at the Stadium of Light.
The fourth-round action kicks off tomorrow with Arsenal hosting Wigan in an all-Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Elsewhere, European champions Manchester United take on QPR, Stoke entertain Rotherham, Derby host Leeds and Swansea face Watford.
