Simeone to take Racing job
Former Argentina national team captain Diego Simeone will be offered the Racing Club coaching role later today.
Juan Manuel Llop left the club yesterday after the 2-0 Avellaneda derby loss to arch rivals Independiente left Racing without a win from the first three rounds of the Clausura tournament.
Club vice-president Pablo Podesta expects Simeone, who coached the team in 2006, to take over with immediate effect.
"The priority is a meeting with Simeone. We are trying to arrange it for this evening," Podesta told Radio La Red.
"We know Simeone is having some personal problems and wants to have progress. This evening, we'll try to gets both parties' interests closer."
