CONCACAF Champs League Preview
Houston Dynamo coach Dominic Kinnear is confident his team can beat Atlante in Mexico tomorrow and make it into the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals.
Dynamo were the only team to fail to win at home in the first leg, recording a 1-1 draw, and know they must win in Cancun.
"It is a good result for them and it is not a terrible result for us," said Kinnear.
"It is not impossible. We just need to win a game away from home and that is something we have done before.
Atlante will be even more confident, however, and midfielder Christian Bermudez has urged his team-mates to score as soon as possible to demolish Dynamo's ambition.
"We must work in finishing the chances we have and be aware we must score the first opportunity we have," said Bermudez.
"If not, our opponents could do that and that would make things very difficult to us."
Elsewhere, a duel between two Mexican teams sees Cruz Azul try to keep hold of the slender advantage they secured in the 1-0 victory at the Estadio Azul.
But Pumas will hope playing at their own stadium and in front of their own fans can help them book a semi-final berth.
Cruz Azul defender Carlos Bonet has warned his team-mates of overconfidence following their first-leg win.
"We need to win, we must score," he said. "Playing and winning in a continental championship is very nice.
"We must play with responsibility. We've made a big step but there are 90 minutes left yet."
Also on Wednesday, Honduran giants Marathon will try to overcome a 2-1 first-leg defeat to the Puerto Rico Islanders.
They have been boosted by the return from injury of two of their most important figures - Emil Martinez and Erick Norales.
"We are not dead," said Marathon midfielder Marvin Chavez. "At home, we'll make them feel what we are. They are a big team but we'll fight until the end."
Santos Laguna face the most difficult challenge as on Thursday they welcome Montreal Impact, who celebrated a 2-0 triumph last week.
