Santos stage late comeback

Colombian forward Carlos Darwin Quintero scored twice in second-half stoppage time to complete a dramatic 5-2 victory for Santos Laguna over Montreal Impact, which sent the Mexican side into the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals.

After losing 2-0 the first leg in Canada, Daniel Guzman's side needed to beat Montreal by three goals to advance.

The hosts started well as Ecuadorian midfielder Christian Benitez opened the scoring in the 15th minute but the Canadians reacted well as Roberto Brown and Cuban Eduardo Sebrango made it 2-1 for the visitors.

Forward Matias Vuoso scored a brace shortly after the break to put Santos back ahead and in the second minute of stoppage time substitute Quintero made it 4-2 before grabbing the crucial fifth for his side with the last kick of the game.

Santos Laguna will face compatriots Atlante while Cruz Azul will clash with Puerto Rico Islanders in the other semi-final.
