Uzbek League Review

Bunyodkor maintained their perfect start to the Uzbek League season with a 3-0 victory at Neftchi on Tuesday.

Rivaldo opened the scoring for the Asian Champions League participants after 18 minutes and Anvar Gafurov extended their advantage nine minutes later.

Victor Karpenko then wrapped up a third successive triumph for Bunyodkor five minutes after the break to leave Neftchi bottom of the table.

Nasaf also continued their winning ways with a 4-2 triumph over Andijan to join the Tashkent-based side at the top of the standings.

After Mirzakamol Kamalov had cancelled out Samandar Shodmonov's opener, Nasaf regained the lead when Ilhom Shamuradov found the back of the net.

Shodmonov's second after 67 minutes increased the hosts' advantage to 3-1 before Ibrahim Atahanov pulled a goal back for Andijan 10 minutes later. However, Oleg Melnik made sure of the points one minute from time.

Sogdiana climbed to third after they twice came from behind to see off Almalik 3-2 at home.

Anvar Rahimov gave the visitors a ninth-minute lead but Davron Fayziev's penalty after 19 minutes drew Sogdiana level.

However, Bakhtiyor Hamidullaev put Almalik back in front one minute later before an Avaz Agaleev effort shortly after the break and then Omar Berdyev's own goal sealed the points for Sogdiana.

At the other end of the table, Metallurg picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 success over Shurtan, who joined Neftchi as the only two sides yet to get off the mark.

A Bojan Kolevic double and Timur Turdyev's goal all came inside the opening half hour to put the hosts firmly in control. Artur Gevorkyan netted a second-half consolation for Shurtan.

Elsewhere, Navbakhor played out a 1-1 draw with Bukhara, as did Dynamo and Khorezm and Qyzylqum and Mash'al.
