Flamengo have confirmed that they are interested in signing troubled Brazil striker Adriano after he left Serie A this week.

The 27-year-old's contract at Inter Milan was terminated Friday after the forward announced earlier this month he wanted to take a break from football.

"Obviously he is a very interesting player. Kleber (Leite, football vice president) is taking care of that and he will look for the way of bringing him here," Dumbrosck told globoesporte.com.

"Flamengo helped to recover Ronaldo and we can open doors for Adriano with or without contract."
